If you’re visiting Savannah for Thanksgiving, you’re in for quite a treat. Start a new holiday tradition by dining out at one of the incredible Historic District restaurants. They put out quite a spread, with all your favorite traditional fare as well as coastal dishes unique to the region.

It’s the perfect way to indulge in a delicious meal without worrying with the cleanup. Check out a few of our favorite Savannah restaurants, but be sure to reserve your table early. These restaurants fill up fast.

Dine Aboard A River Cruise

For a truly unique holiday experience, join a Savannah Riverboat Cruise Thanksgiving buffet. Two sailings are planned on Thanksgiving day and include a cruise along the beautiful Savannah River, a traditional holiday buffet and live entertainment.

Go for the Non-Traditional

How about seared salmon, a New York strip or flounder with an apricot shallot sauce for your Thanksgiving meal? That’s just some of the non-traditional dishes offered at Garibaldi Cafe, located in a former firehouse on West Congress. It’s a lovely atmosphere with fabulous food and excellent service.

Pull Up A Chair

In the early 1940s, Sema Wilkes took over a boardinghouse in historic Savannah. She offered lodging and family-style meals in the downstairs dining room.  Visitors can still get a taste of that Southern hospitality at Mrs. Wilke’s Dining Room at 107 W. Jones St. It’s the place to go for true Southern cuisine, and a lot of it. FYI: They only accept cash payments, so swing by an ATM. Customers start lining up early, so be prepared for a wait. But it’s worth it.

Time Travel with Your Meal

Enjoy a true Savannah experience at The Olde Pink House, locate in a building that dates back to 1771. A National Landmark, the Georgian mansion that houses the restaurant faces Reynolds Square. It’s an elegant atmosphere, but the food is all Southern with big servings in a beautiful presentation. The Olde Pink House offers a Thanksgiving special but be sure to make your reservation now.

Enjoy a River View

A meal at Vic’s on the River is a treat no matter the occasion, making it the ideal spot for a holiday meal. Located in an old cotton warehouse overlooking Savannah River, Vic’s offers Southern cuisine and seafood specialties served by a friendly staff in a wonderful atmosphere.

If you do decide to forego dining out in favor of a home-cooked meal, we’ve got you covered (hopefully in giblet gravy). Our Savannah vacation rentals include state-of-the-art, fully equipped kitchens. You’ll have all the appliances, cookware and dishes you need to make a memorable holiday feast.
