Fall is a perfect time of year to hit the unique boutiques and shops of Savannah, whether on your own or with a girlfriend’s shopping getaway.

Visitors discover great shopping throughout the city, including along the riverfront, the historic district and in midtown. From open-air markets to charming stores to specialty merchants, shoppers (and browsers) find plenty to love in Savannah. Check out a few of our favorite spots.

Abercorn Walk

Just south of downtown, Abercorn Walk is an upscale shopping center that runs along Abercorn Street. Abercorn Walk resembles a village in that each storefront retains a different style. The shopping center features several brand-name retailers like Talbots, Loft, Chico’s and more. There’s also a Fresh Market where you can pick up items for a picnic in one of Savannah’s historic parks.

City Market

A pedestrian promenade, Savannah City Market stretches a full block in each direction, with Ellis Square to the east and Franklin Square to the west. With more than a dozen shops, the four-block area is a tourist destination for entertainment and dining. Take the trolley, enjoy some free samples and stop off for a bite to eat at one of the restaurants.

E Shaver Booksellers

Book lovers know that a visit to Savannah isn’t complete without a stop at E Shaver Booksellers. This delightful bookstore offers a great selection, with many titles of local interest as well as a sizable variety of fiction and nonfiction. The charming store is known for its friendly staff, its shop cats and a wonderful tearoom.

River Street Market Place

For an open-air shopping experience, head to River Street Marketplace, located in market buildings that stood on River Street in the mid-1800s. Historic River Street is a top Savannah destination known for shopping, dining and nightlife. With a local and international flair, the more than 70 shops are perfect for browsing while enjoying a scenic view.

Saints and Shamrocks

Looking for the perfect gift? Head to Saints and Shamrocks on Bull Street for Irish imports, religious gifts and Southern charm. Reasonable prices and courteous staff make it a favorite stop for those seeking Celtic items, rosaries, Savannah T-shirts, fair trade products and more.
