When summer is over the fun doesn’t stop in Savannah, Georgia! A visit in the fall offers the same great eats, sites, and beaches, but with less crowds and sometimes milder temperatures. Here are a few of our favorite Savannah things to do that we think you should check out while on your Savannah vacation.

The Olde Pink House

One of our favorite places to find a great meal, nightly entertainment and amazing Georgian architecture. This gorgeous 18th century mansion offers dining both indoors and out, with a menu that includes lowcountry cuisine and dishes like filet mignon with green peppercorn demi glaze and crispy half duck with a black vinegar BBQ glaze. A meal you’ll want to write home about? Yep, that’s The Old Pink House!

Forsyth Park

If you are staying in one of our Forsyth Park vacation rentals, you’re just steps away from this renowned park which boasts more than 30 acres and is home to a half shell theatre, tennis and basketball courts, playgrounds, and the famous Forsyth Fountain. Since 1858, the fountain has drawn visitors from all over and may be one of the most photographed sites in the city! It’s definitely worth adding to your Savannah vacation itinerary.

The Pirates’ House

With 15 different dining rooms, an extensive menu, and well, pirates, this unique restaurant has been serving swashbucklers since 1953. Established in 1753 as a tavern for seafarers and pirates alike, the building is one of the oldest in Georgia. Every room is full of memorabilia and distinctive charm. The restaurant offers a Southern menu with entrees like shrimp carbonara, as well as a lunch buffet.

Trolley Tour

The Old Savannah Trolley Tour is a must if you want to see the best of Savannah in the fall. Locally owned, they bring hometown expertise as they literally bring Savannah to life with historical re-enactors and other famous “Savannahians.” There are different tours for everyone, including history buffs, ghost hunters, and those on the go who prefer to hop on and off to create their own itinerary.

Hit the Beach

If you’d like to spend more time in the sand and surf, then a Tybee Island rental might be for you. “Savannah’s Beach” is just 18 miles from the heart of Savannah and is consistently ranked as one of the top beaches in the U.S. Catch the views from the Tybee Island Lighthouse, stroll the Tybee Pier and Pavilion or book a charter fishing trip. Or, if your favorite activity is no activity at all…grab a blanket and just “be” at Tybee this fall.

No matter what kind of adventure you want to fall into, we have the perfect accommodations for your Savannah or Tybee Island Vacation. From well-appointed trendy lofts to a spacious beach getaway, we can help you find the perfect place to call your home away from home.
