The she crab soup at Chive Sea Bar & Lounge, 4 W. Broughton St., has crab meat in every mouth-watering bite. The rich and creamy soup is so delish, it will have you licking the bowl.
Crawfish Beignets
Everything is delicious at Vic’s on the River, 26 E. Bay St., but the crawfish beignets take things to a new level. The beignets are flaky and flavorful, and topped with Tabasco syrup.
As for entrees, the choices are endless.
Shrimp and Grits
A staple of Lowcountry cooking is shrimp and grits. The Olde Pink House, 23 Abercorn St., version of this local favorite is absolutely melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The large shrimp are served in a creamy sauce over a grits cake. This dish has guests coming back for more.
Southern Comfort
Fried chicken. Collard greens. Biscuits. Macaroni and cheese. No one does Southern food better than Savannah, and among the best is Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room, 107 W. Jones St. Your mouth is sure to water when those heaping platters get passed around the table.
BBQ
Savannah Smokehouse BBQ & Brew, 16 W. State St., is a counter-service barbecue joint serving finger-licking good pulled pork, beef brisket, smoked turkey, chicken and, of course, ribs.
